John W. Mabry, Jr.

Biography

A leader of the alarm industry leader since 1969, John W. Mabry is Past President of Security Network of America. Security Network of America has 82 locations nationwide, their annual revenue exceeds $390M and they continue to exceed the growth rate of their peers.

John first applied his entrepreneurial skills by launching a ground‑breaking franchise operation, that eventually sold for over 1,000 times his original investment. Turning his sights toward the alarm industry in 1969, John founded and built the American Alarm Company into a multi‑million dollar success story. In 1983, Honeywell Inc. purchased American alarm. Announcing the acquisition, SDM magazine stated, "the premier alarm company in the United States has been sold to Honeywell".

Soon after the sale of American Alarm was complete, Honeywell's management recognized John's talents and quickly used his industry expertise to Honeywell's advantage. From 1983 until 1993, John served as Vice President of Honeywell's Protection Services Division and later Vice President of the $3.4B Home and Building Control business unit. John was instrumental in advancing Honeywell's expansion activities that placed Honeywell in the forefront of the North American market.

Throughout his career, John has sought to bring cohesion to the alarm industry. As a result, his intent was recognized by his peers who named him to the Board of Directors and later as President of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. As President, John founded the NBFAA's National Training School and grew membership 100 fold to 3,000 members. In 1972 John was appointed to the Board of Directors and later elected President of the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) which he continues to serve as a director.

A strong sense of family has driven John to become an integral part of the community where he applies his professional abilities to bring a sense of cohesion to the communities in which he lives. A founder and Past President of Xavier University's "All for One" program and his service as President of the Cincinnati Police Department association demonstrates his concern for a strong community. 

John has been married for 35 years and has four children. The Mabry's have three daughters, all college graduates and a son who graduated from the United States Naval Academy.

 

Joseph Nicosia

Biography

Mr. Nicosia served as President and CEO of GATX Logistics, Inc. from April 1994 until January 2001. He led and facilitated a buyout of the company from its parent GATX Corporation and it's subsequent sale eight months later to APL Logistics.

Prior to joining GATX Logistics, Mr. Nicosia held senior executive positions with CTI, a subsidiary of CSX Corporation, Leaseway Transportation Corporation, McDonnell Douglas Finance Corp And Rollins Leasing Corp.

Mr. Nicosia is a graduate of Penn State University and has attended graduate studies programs at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and at the University of Southern California. He has lectured on logistics at a number of universities including, Iowa State, Arizona State, Penn State, Carnegie‑Mellon and Rollins College. He currently serves on the boards of Decade Systems, Inc, ChemLogix Corporation and is an advisor to ShipMatrix, Inc.
